BTC Markets, Australia's leading digital asset exchange, is seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance Manager to lead the risk and compliance team through its next chapter of growth.
About the role
The successful candidate will be an outstanding leader and have a strong culture of financial risk & compliance. You will have strong risk, compliance, technology and financial acumen with a commercial awareness, underpinned by sound corporate governance.
As our risk & compliance manager you will be responsible for supporting the head of compliance in the monitoring and implementation of the compliance & risk management framework at BTC Markets. The risk & compliance manager will continually promote a culture of compliance within the company. You will manage a team across various operational functions, close liaison with key stakeholders & working closely with business representatives in managing risks to the business.
As a leader you will be inclusive, collaborative and credible, able to communicate with influence, inspiring confidence in the directors, managers, employees and our customers.

Skills and experience
- Minimum of 5 years risk and compliance experience in the financial services industry
- Degree in accounting, business, commerce or related field desirable
- Proven track record in managing business operations risk & compliance
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for compliance within the financial services environment
- Ability to interpret regulatory obligations
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong understanding with the AML CTF Act, Corporations Act & the Privacy Act
- Excellent written communication skills
- Exposure, understanding and interest in blockchain / digital assets industry is preferable
- Experience in a fast-paced environment is mandatory
- Experience with supervising or managing, mentoring, developing & coaching a team
