“Golem is a global, open-source, decentralised supercomputer that anyone can access. It is made up of the combined power of users’ machines, from PCs to entire data centres.”
The Golem Network offers an opensource, decentralised peer-to-peer marketplace for sharing and utilising computer processing power. It allows users seeking computational power ("requestors”), to rent resources from other users (“providers”) using their token, GNT (Golem Network Token). GNT is an ERC-20 token created on the Ethereum Network.
Golem held their ICO (Initial Coin Offering) in November 2016 raising 820,000 ETH and boast use cases in multiple areas of technology, such as for machine learning, protein folding simulations, video processing, and photogrammetry.
Golem is currently in the Beta phase of their software but has an active platform which is currently available for CGI rendering projects.
Providing an avenue for developers to publish and monetize their applications, the Golem Network strives to offer a space for everyone to participate and join their community.
